Help Us To Support More Young Carers
We currently support approximately 800 young carers between the ages of 6-21, both individually and as part of their family on an ongoing basis.  However, it is estimated that 1 in 4 children in your average school classroom could possibly be a Young Carer. Therefore we need your help to ensure we can identify and support them.

Your support will make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people across St Helens.

Want to support St Helens Young Carers but not sure how?

Here are just a few of our favourite fundraising ideas to help you!

Quiz Night - Whether it’s online or in person, a quiz night is always a good way to have fun and raise money. All you need is an entry fee, a carefully-selected set of questions, a quiz master and people to take part. Oh, and maybe a prize for the winner too!

Tea / Coffee Morning - Why not host a tea / coffee morning for your nearest and dearest? This is a great fundraising idea that allows you to relax and catch up with family and friends, at the same time as raising valuable funds for your favourite charity.

Fancy Dress Day - You will be amazed how many people love to dress up! Simply ask everyone who wants to take part to make a small donation to come into work, school or college, dressed as whatever they want. Or if you would prefer to dress up with friends, you could arrange a themed fancy dress party with a prize for the best costume!

Car Wash - Time to get those buckets and sponges out! A car wash is a great way to raise money as it is a win-win situation. The person donating gets their car cleaned, as well as knowing they’re giving to charity. You might even be able to encourage people to pay a little over the going rate!

Sponsored ‘Give-up’ - This one is simple to set up, yet so effective. Whatever it is you choose to give up, e.g. chocolate or takeaways, why not get your family and friends to sponsor you? This is a great way to cut out something from your lifestyle, as well as fundraise for a fantastic cause.

Penalty Jar - One for those of you who are always late, or perhaps need to watch your language (!), a penalty jar is a great way to kick bad habits as well as support a great charity. Set whatever rules you like and every time you break one, pay into your jar. When you’ve filled the jar, we’ll be very happy to take it off your hands! This is a really good one for workplaces/families to take on together.

Or if fitness is more your thing…

Running - If running is something you enjoy, why not take on a challenge like a fun-run or a marathons to raise money from your family and friends? You can click here to see a list of running events taking place soon, in and around Sheffield.

Walking - From walking around the Dream to challenging yourself to walk from one place to another, e.g. Liverpool to Manchester, or setting yourself a daily, weekly or monthly step target, walking is a great way to raise money for charity - with the added benefit of being really good for you too!

Cycling/Swimming - If you’d rather be on wheels or in water, there are plenty of cycling and swimming challenges out there too. Or you might even fancy combining two or more of the above by taking part in a triathlon!

Or if you are a real dare devil like one of our former sessional workers, you could sky dive!!
